Coca-Cola, Renew Merchandise, and the Hudson Group join Chicago Department of Aviation at the 2015 Airports Going Green Conference, October 25-28

CHICAGO, 2015-6-25 — /Travel PR News/ — This year the sustainability leaders at Coca-Cola, Renew Merchandise, and the Hudson Group will join the Chicago Department of Aviation at the 2015 Airports Going Green Conference, October 25-28, in Chicago. Attendees will have a unique opportunity to hear the success stories of these companies, see products and fashions made from sustainable fabrics and receive an exclusive Airports Going Green shirt made from upcycled plastic bottles.  The conference is hosted by the Chicago Department of Aviation and the American Association of Aviation Executives (AAAE).

Jeffrey Foote, Coca-Cola’s Director of Customer Sustainability, will share the company’s commitment to creating value for the communities they proudly serve, and the planet we all share.  We’ll learn about Coca-Cola’s sustainability and “giving back” programs, and how it focuses on upcycling plastic waste into creative and useable materials and fabrics that can be found in everyday products.  To meet its goals, Coca-Cola partners with entrepreneurs such as Renew Merchandise.

Renew Merchandise President, Jay Todd Marburger, will share the company’s story and display its sustainable fabrics made from recycling plastic bottles by Coca-Cola and other sources. All Renew Fibers are made from PET bottles that would have ended up in landfills and are Certified Post-Consumer only. Renew is also donating sustainable fabrics to Columbia College Fashion Design students for their use in designing custom garments and accessories to be featured during this year’s AGG 2015 Sustainable Fashion Show.

Hudson Group Senior Vice President, Tom Kornacki will lead a discussion on the implementation of Green Concessions Programs at Airports from the concessionaires’ perspective. The Hudson Group supports Renew and Coca-Cola by exclusively offering Coca-Cola beverage products in its airport retail stores, and carries a line of products made using Renew’s sustainable fabrics.  The Hudson Group will sponsor a conference shirt made from Renew fabrics available to all Conference attendees.
