Christchurch, New Zealand, 2018-May-17 — /Travel PR News/ — Christchurch Airport welcomes today’s announcement that Singapore Airlines will start flying the latest Airbus 350 to and from Christchurch next January.
The airline has been a partner here for more than 30 years and has been flying a 777 since 2002, but the upgrade to an A350 means South Island passengers will be able to choose Business or Premium Economy options for the first time, as well as Economy.
Airport Chief Aeronautical and Commercial Officer Justin Watson says making the latest technology available to passengers on the daily direct flights between Christchurch and Singapore is great for South Island travellers.
“Christchurch is the international gateway to the South Island and many travellers arriving from, and flying to, Asia and Europe choose to fly on Singapore Airlines,” he says.
“Many of them are used to travelling on the latest aircraft with the greatest comfort, so will welcome the changes the daily A350 will offer to and from our part of the world.”
The A350-900 provides customers travelling to and from Christchurch with features such as higher ceilings, larger windows, an extra wide body delivering more space and comfort, as well as lighting designed to reduce jetlag.
