Chicago’s Airports goes pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month Observed at Chicago’s Airports

Chicago , Il, USA, 2013-10-07 — /travelprnews.com/ — For the sixth consecutive year, the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) has “gone pink” for Breast Cancer Awareness Month by participating in the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundations “2013 Light the Way to Find a Cure” campaign.

“On behalf of Mayor Rahm Emanuel, we are pleased to join the rest of the City in recognizing this major health issue that affects so many,” said Rosemarie S. Andolino, CDA Commissioner. “We want to raise awareness about breast cancer research for the millions of visitors and employees at O’Hare and Midway​ and are pleased to join the Lynn Sage Foundation’s efforts.”

The CDA will show its support by displaying pink lights, ribbons and other decorations at O’Hare and Midway InternationalAirports during the month of October.

Twelve-foot lighted pink bows are affixed to the main entrance and exit signs at O’Hare, as well as on each pedestrian bridge over the roadway between the Airport Transit System (ATS) and Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5. The CDA Operations Tower and airport landscaping are lit with pink lights.
