CHICAGO, 2015-8-11 — /Travel PR News/ — Join us for a very special event at Airports Going Green: The 2nd Annual Sustainable Fashion Show presented Monday evening, October 26. Sponsored by HMSHost, the Fashion Show will highlight clothes and accessories made from re-purposed and sustainable materials crafted by the Fashion Studies Department at Columbia College in Chicago.
The Fashion Show will be produced by Latino Fashion Week and will highlight outfits worn by local models and many of our industry volunteers. Hudson Group and Coca-Cola helped us secure the participation of Renew Merchandise, which is donating materials for the show. Renew Merchandise is a company that makes fabric from recycled plastics using an energy efficient process, salvaging resources that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Savors Thrift Store is also contributing second-hand clothing from its local stores. United Airlines‘ used seat-fabric and banner materials will again be used to create surprising fashion possibilities.
All upcycled, recycled, and re-used fabric donations will be creatively fashioned by Columbia College students and displayed on the “AGG Runway” at Tunnel Night Club in downtown Chicago. Last year’s show was one of the most memorable events from the conference, so we are excited to see what designs will be unveiled in 2015.
And the fun doesn’t stop after the show! Immediately following the event, EDI and Blue Sky Energy Solutions will treat all attendees to food and drink at John Barleycorn, capping off a full Chicago night-life experience in a trendy social setting.
