CDA: “Airport Restaurant Week” is here! from January 27 through February 9

CHICAGO, 2017-Jan-29 — /Travel PR News/ — Will you be flying through one of Chicago’s airports over the next couple of weeks? Be sure to bring your appetite! The Chicago Department of Aviation’s award-winning “Airport Restaurant Week” returns to O’Hare and Midway International Airports beginning this Friday, January 27, 2017. This event features an impressive line-up of the airports’ dining options from Chicago-based restaurants and bars, including Publican Tavern, Summer House Santa Monica and Reilly’s Daughter, and boutique culinary entrepreneurs including Sarah’s Candies and Vosges Haut-Chocolat.

During “Airport Restaurant Week”, which runs from January 27 through February 9, both airports will feature live cooking demonstrations, samplings and discounts on select menu items at most of the restaurants at O’Hare and Midway. The airport event is timed to coincide with Chicago Restaurant Week.

Chefs from the airports’ restaurants, as well as aspiring local chefs from Chicago’s own Kennedy-King College, will display their culinary skills and share freshly-made samples with passengers at the cooking demonstrations. Featured dishes include spicy shrimp with grits, bacon avocado toast, falafel burger, Caribbean rice with pigeon peas and jerk salmon, popcorn balls, sushi rolls and much more. Local chefs will even offer a tutorial on how to make the perfect “Chicago Dog”. (No ketchup included!)

Cooking demos at O’Hare will take place in Terminal 1 near Gate B12 and in Terminal 3 in Concourse H/K. At Midway, cooking demos will be held in the Midway Boulevard Food court, located just after the security checkpoints.

Visit the CDA’s website – www.flychicago.com/restaurantweek for the schedule of live cooking events, as well as complete listings of specials, samplings and discounts for food and beverage. You can also view and download the 2017 “Airport Restaurant Week” Recipe Book from the website.

Passengers who stop by the cooking demonstrations will receive a 2017 Airport Restaurant Week Recipe Booklet featuring chef inspired recipes.
