NEW YORK, 2017-May-15 — /Travel PR News/ — Global deals publisher Travelzoo® (NASDAQ: TZOO) today ( May 10, 2017) announced that Carrie Liqun Liu is expected to be elected to Travelzoo’s board of directors at the company’s annual meeting on May 22, 2017.
Liu, a Chinese national, has been the Executive Director of Fosun China Momentum Fund in Shanghai since July 2011. During her time at Fosun Group, she has led and worked on several investments in the travel and entertainment industries, including Cirque du Soleil, Club Med and British tour operator Thomas Cook. Liu was a member of the board of directors of global entertainment company Cirque du Soleil. Liu was previously a senior investment professional at Henderson Equity Partners and an investment banker at China Renaissance Partners.
“Chinese tourists are traveling more and more globally and China is an important market for a global travel company to develop business in the region”, says Liu. “My understanding of the local market and resources available here in China may contribute to Travelzoo’s development in the Asian markets.”
Liu graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in law from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. She is fluent in Mandarin and English.
