2012-11-05 — /travelprnews.com/ — There’s the pencil, the handlebar, the horseshoe and the trucker – these are not different types of aircraft, but various styles of moustaches that British Airways considered, before settling on the connoisseur, to decorate its Airbus A319 aircraft to support the Movember campaign!
The aircraft’s facial fuzz was unveiled by British Airways cabin crew Kyle Patchett, one of several colleagues showing his support for Movember throughout November.
The airline is encouraging its employees to join the campaign and is hosting a number of road shows around the business to educate them on health issues.
Liz Wilkinson, British Airways head of health services, said: “We’re always delighted to support Movember, it’s a charity that is very dear to our hearts here at British Airways, especially as our former CEO Lord Marshall suffered from the disease.
“As well as raising money, the aim of the campaign is to raise awareness on the importance of early detection and prevention of the illness.”
Last year, men from across the airline downed their razors and grew moustaches of all shapes and sizes to help raise over £80,000 for the Prostate Cancer Charity. The campaign was spearheaded by Sir Martin Broughton, British Airways Chairman.
