These roles will support the airline’s £7 billion transformation initiative, particularly in digital areas where graduates will help modernize IT infrastructure to enhance customer experience.

Graduate candidates can choose from nine different two-year programs, including Engineering, Finance, and Commercial Business, while apprentices can apply to one of 11 programs, such as Business Professional and Ground Operations. Positions are available at locations across the UK, including Customer Service Advisor roles in Manchester and Aircraft Maintenance roles at BA’s Glasgow and Cardiff facilities.

Applications have surged post-pandemic, with over 20,000 applications in 2023—nearly double the previous year’s numbers. The airline’s Strategic Resourcing Team has engaged with young talent at nearly 350 career fairs, reaching 70,000 students throughout 2024.

Rachel Iley, Director of Global Learning Academy at British Airways, expressed excitement about the new intake, saying, “Our graduates and apprentices bring fresh perspectives and add tremendous value to our team. We’re excited to see what this new cohort will achieve.” Engineering Graduate Ammar emphasized the program’s impact on his career, noting the hands-on experience and mentorship he received.

To support prospective applicants, British Airways offers the “Speedbird-Z” online career platform, connecting users with industry professionals, learning modules, and employability skills. Since 2019, over 40,000 users have joined Speedbird-Z to explore aviation careers.
