LONDON, UK, 2018-Dec-21 — /Travel PR News/ — Shoppers often aim to avoid last minute Christmas shopping however this year they could earn themselves their own gift with the British Airways Avios eStore offering double Avios when purchasing through selected retailers.
Running until Sunday December 23, the promotion means those leaving their shopping this late will be able to collect even more Avios which they can spend towards hotels, flights, upgrades, car hire and other experiences.
Retailers offering double Avios per £1 pound spent include:
The airline’s Avios eStore features over 900 retailers across fashion, health & beauty, gifts & flowers, entertainment, tech, travel, children’s toys and electricals. British Airways Executive Club members are credited with Avios for every £1 spent through the online store, while the amount of Avios varies by retailer.
Carolina Martinoli, British Airways’ Director of Brand and Customer Experience, said: “Many of us leave Christmas shopping to the last minute but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t great deals to be had. We’re offering customers the chance to boost their Avios balance through their Christmas spend so shopping for friends and family can help customers get a little bit of indulgence of their own.”
As research suggests that consumers intend to spend £567 on average this Christmas, with 42 per cent of this spend taking place online*, the opportunities to collect Avios are wide reaching.
Avios collected through the British Airways Avios eStore can be spent as normal, such as being used towards reward flights, where customers use Avios and just pay for taxes, fees and carrier charges in cash. They can also be used for hotels, car hire and Avios Part Payment – reducing the cash amount paid on flights. When using Avios Part Payment, customers can pick from a range of savings by destination and cabin. Members will still collect Avios and Tier Points on these bookings.
To collect Avios while shopping, customers need to visit the British Airways Avios eStore and enter their British Airways Executive Club log in details. They can then click through to retailers’ websites to access the great offers. The Executive Club is free to join and can be done so here.
