Bristol Airport Prepares for Record Easter Weekend with 16,000 Daily Arrivals and Enhanced Travel Services

(IN SHORT) Bristol Airport is set for a record-breaking Easter holiday, expecting around 16,000 passengers per day between Good Friday and Easter Monday. Arrivals from Poland, Spain, and Italy remain popular, while outbound passengers are heading to destinations like Palma, Tenerife, Amsterdam, and Dublin. Updated A1 and A3 Flyer bus schedules offer more frequent public transport options, with 1.3 million journeys recorded last year. Travellers are advised to arrive at least two hours before departure and check the Airport’s website for parking and travel details. Security guidelines remain in place, and families are encouraged to prepare children for scanning procedures to ensure smooth transit.

(PRESS RELEASE) BRISTOL, 2025-Apr-14 — /Travel PR News/ — Bristol Airport is preparing for its busiest Easter holiday season yet, with an expected 16,000 passengers arriving each day between Good Friday and Easter Monday. Travellers will include those reconnecting with loved ones, holidaymakers returning home, and visitors exploring the scenic South West. Flights from Poland, Spain, and Italy are among the most in-demand this Easter period.

Popular outbound destinations include sun-soaked locations such as Palma, Alicante, Faro, Malaga, and Tenerife, as well as city break favourites like Amsterdam, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Belfast.

With the updated A1 and A3 Flyer bus timetables now fully operational, passengers will find it easier than ever to travel to and from the Airport by public transport. The A1 runs every eight minutes between 7am and 7pm from the Airport to Bristol Temple Meads via Bedminster, with overnight service available every 30 minutes. The A3 will operate half-hourly during the day and at least hourly overnight. The full schedule is available on the Bristol Airport website. In 2023, the A1 and A3 Flyer services reached a record 1.3 million journeys by passengers and staff.

To help streamline travel over the busy Easter weekend, the Airport is sharing some helpful tips:

  • Chocolate lovers take note: Easter eggs should be packed in cabin baggage and kept easily accessible, as they may need to be inspected during security checks.
  • Arrival time: Passengers are encouraged to arrive at check-in at least two hours prior to their scheduled departure.
  • Travel planning: Customers are urged to plan their journeys ahead of time and consult the Airport’s website for parking directions, maps, and transport options. A free waiting area offers up to one hour of complimentary parking, with a courtesy bus running every 15 minutes from 6am to midnight and on demand overnight.

For a smooth experience through security:

  • Liquids, gels, and pastes should be under 100ml but can remain in hand luggage, along with electronics such as laptops and phones.
  • Empty pockets and metal water bottles before screening, and place coats, belts, hats, and sunglasses in the trays provided.
  • Pushchairs, car seats, wheelchairs, and walking aids will be searched if not checked in—please allow extra time.
  • Children over 1 metre tall will use the security scanner; those under or unable to stand still may be hand searched.

Further information on travel guidelines, security procedures, and parking can be found on the Bristol Airport website.
