Bristol Airport: bmi regional adds 7,000 seats from Bristol to Frankfurt and Munich ahead of its summer schedule launch at the end of March 2015

  • New flights to Frankfurt three times a day
  • New flights to Munich twice a day
  • Airline flexes to meet flyers’ needs
  • Strong demand prompts additional capacity

BRISTOL, UK, 2014-11-21 — /Travel PR News/ — bmi regional has responded to customer demand and boosted two core routes from Bristol Airport ahead of its summer schedule launch at the end of March 2015. The additional 7,000 seats from Bristol to Frankfurt and Munich will enable three daily departures to Frankfurt from 2 February and two daily departures to Munich three days a week from 3 February.

Flights to Frankfurt will now depart at 6.40 am, 11.50 am and 4.30 pm with a flight time of 100 minutes. Return flights arrive in to Bristol at 10.30 am, 3.40 pm and 8.45 pm. The new Munich service will operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday departing Bristol at 6.55 pm (Tuesday and Thursday) or 5.25 pm (Friday), returning at 11.25 pm (Tuesday and Thursday) or 9.55 pm (Friday). Bristol and southwest residents will now be able to get back home directly from international destinations via Munich with codeshare partner, Lufthansa, instead of spending an extra night travelling. Likewise, the new evening departure to Munich from Bristol allows customers to do a full day’s work in Munich on the back of a good night’s sleep, and get home the next evening back to Bristol.

bmi regional flights from Bristol to Frankfurt are codeshares with Lufthansa, which offers customers flying from Bristol Airport the opportunity to continue their journeys from their local airport to destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa and America on the Lufthansa network.

bmi regional Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Sies said: “Due to customer demand we’ve brought forward our Summer 2015 schedule with flights now starting February 2. Travellers from Bristol and the southwest now have more flexibility and choice to get to Frankfurt and Munich. For our Munich customers, the addition of an evening flight means that you can avoid the hassle of the ‘red eye’ early morning flights, and enjoy a good night sleep ready for any meeting the next day”.

He added: “Of course, all customers flying with bmi regional benefit from our ‘bags fly free policy’, our complimentary full bar, as well as our free breakfast and bistro service on board.”

Shaun Browne, Aviation Director, Bristol Airport said:
“This announcement is a further demonstration of bmi regional’s commitment to Bristol. The addition of a third daily flight to both Frankfurt and additional frequency to Munich is great news for businesses across the South West and Wales, enhancing links to these key business centres.”

bmi regional, which operates an all-jet fleet of Embraer aircraft from Bristol, offers signature customer-focused service across its network, including free 20kg baggage allowance; 30-minute check-in and allocated seating; complimentary in-flight catering and full drinks service; and a schedule tailored to the needs of business travellers.

Seats are on sale now at www.bmiregional.com.
