Blue Islands Resumes Flights After Storm Ciarán Disruption
(IN SHORT) Blue Islands has announced the resumption of its flight operations following the severe weather disruption caused by Storm Ciarán, which led to the temporary closure of Guernsey and Jersey airports. The airline positioned its ATR fleet in Liverpool during the storm and returned them to the islands as soon as the airports reopened. Flights from Guernsey resumed with multiple routes to Southampton and Jersey, while departures from Jersey included destinations like Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Exeter, Guernsey, and Southampton. Blue Islands expressed its gratitude to customers for their patience during the disruption.
(PRESS RELEASE) Guernsey, Jersey, 2023-7-Nov — /Travel PR News/ — Blue Islands has resumed its flying programme, Friday 3 November, following the severe weather disruption from Storm Ciarán which saw Guernsey and Jersey airports close on Thursday 2 November.
Rob Veron, CEO Blue Islands said, “On Wednesday evening we positioned our ATR fleet off-island to Liverpool. We flew them back to the islands today, to resume operations as soon as the airfields were re-opened. Our thanks to our customers for their patience.”
Blue Islands flights from Guernsey resumed from 10:00 with multiple flights to Southampton and Jersey scheduled, while departures from Jersey commenced at 14:00 when the airport opened with flights to Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Exeter, plus multiple services Guernsey and Southampton.
