“Best Airport” award went to Istanbul Ataturk Airport at “The World’s Best Airports Awards 2013”

2013-04-11 — /travelprnews.com/ — Istanbul Ataturk Airport operated by TAV Airports was chosen the “Best Airport” in Southern Europe as the result of surveys carried out by Skytrax.

Istanbul Ataturk Airport operated by TAV Airports Holding received the “Best Airport” award in Southern Europe at “The World’s Best Airports Awards 2013” organized by Skytrax, a leading Research Group based in London. During the ceremony held in Geneva, Sweden which was participated by the leaders of the aviation sector, the award was presented to TAV Airports Strategy and Business Development Director Serkan Kaptan by Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted.

Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted congratulated Istanbul Ataturk Airport for the good performance it showed in this year’s surveys.
Skytrax World’s Best Airports Awards was assigned in accordance with the results of 12.1 million surveys carried out at 395 airports worldwide. The grading was made as a result of surveys questioning passengers at airports for 39 different airport services including duty-free, security and transfers. Last year’s winner Barcelona El Prat Airport was awarded the second place whilst Madrid-Barajas Airport became the third in the “Best Airport” in Southern Europe category which Istanbul Ataturk Airport received the first prize for.
