Bangkok Airways hosts its fifth running program at Chiang Rai City Hall, Chiang Rai

Chiang Rai, Thailand, 2019-Sep-19 — /Travel PR News/ — Recently, Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited led by Mr. Varong Israsena Na Ayudhya, Vice President – Marketing (8th from left) organized the “Bangkok Airways Chiang Rai Half Marathon”, the fifth running program of the Bangkok Airways Boutique Series 2019 at Chiang Rai City Hall, Chiang Rai. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr.Somkit Ketsanakin, Mueng Chiang Rai District Chief (6th from Right) and Colonel Kittipol Prihirun, Chief of Staff,Military Circle 37 (5th from Right), Mr.Noppadon Pakprot, Deputy Governor for Domestic Marketing, Tourism Authority of Thailand  (7th from Right), Mr.Sert Chaiyananta, Director of Chiang Rai Provincial of Tourism and Sport (4th  from Right), Miss Karuna Dechatiwong, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Chiang Rai Office (5th  from left).   The race was also joined by Ms.Rachwin Wongviriya, Actress and Mr. Nuntawat Chanyalikit, the winner of Master Chef Thailand Season 3.

“Bangkok Airways Chiang Rai Half Marathon” was organized to promote Chiang rai tourism and to ensure that participants recognize the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The event was divided into 3 categories which are; Fun Run of 5 kilometers, Mini Marathon of 10 kilometers, and Half-Marathon of 21 kilometers. All runners had an opportunity to experience the beautiful scenery of historical landmarks in Chiang Rai city and the natural beauty of the Kok river along the running route with Bangkok Airways’ signature boutique touch that features on running shirts, medals and trophies which were designed by stupidnoobmacc, the renowned Thai illustrator behind “BabyBoy” character using iconic symbols of Chiang Rai to integrate into the design.

One of the highlights in this program is “Care the Bear: Change the Climate Change” which is a partnership project between Bangkok Airways and The Stock Exchange of Thailand. The campaign aims to reduce carbon emission from organizing events which Bangkok Airways put the initiative forward at Phuket Half Marathon by segregating the waste, reducing the use of plastic and foam and promoting the re-use of event decorations.

Bangkok Airways Chiang Rai Half Marathon is the fifth event out of six planned programs of the Bangkok Airways Boutique Series 2019. The remaining program is the “Lanna Half Marathon” on 3 November 2019.
