Baltic Ground Services Strengthens Position as Key Aviation Services Partner Through Finnair Contract Extension

(IN SHORT) Baltic Ground Services and Finnair have prolonged their cooperation in the Baltic region through renewed agreements covering aviation fuel supply in Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn as well as ground handling services in Vilnius starting in 2026. The collaboration, which began with fueling operations in Vilnius and later expanded to additional Baltic airports, supports Finnair’s regular flights linking the Baltic capitals with Helsinki and onward global connections. The extended contracts highlight the importance of dependable operational partners and confirm BGS’s expanding role as a regional aviation services provider.

(PRESS RELEASE) VILNIUS, Lithuania, 2026-Feb-24 — /Travel PR News/ —Baltic Ground Services (BGS) and Finnair have agreed to continue their long-standing collaboration in the Baltic region through a renewed set of service contracts covering several key airports. The extended cooperation ensures that BGS will remain responsible for supporting Finnair’s operational needs across multiple Baltic locations.

Beginning 1 January 2026, BGS will keep providing aviation fuel services for Finnair’s flights at Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn airports. The company will also continue delivering ground handling services in Vilnius, where it has supported Finnair’s operations for several years. The updated agreements maintain operational continuity and reinforce the established working relationship between the two organizations.

The partnership has developed in stages over time. Fueling services were initially introduced in Vilnius in early 2017, with additional Baltic stations added more recently as Finnair expanded cooperation with BGS. The airline operates regular connections from the three Baltic capitals to Helsinki, enabling passengers and cargo to access Finnair’s broader European and intercontinental route network.

By extending the agreements, both companies aim to maintain consistent service standards and efficient daily operations throughout the region. Reliable local service providers play an important role in supporting airline performance, particularly in markets where coordination across multiple airports is essential.

The renewed cooperation reflects BGS’s continued growth as a regional aviation services provider. With integrated fuel supply and ground handling capabilities, the company supports airlines operating in the Baltic states while building long-term relationships with network carriers such as Finnair.
