BAC signed with Shenzhen CIMC TIANDA Airport Support LTD for new passenger boarding bridges at Bahrain International Airport

Muharraq, Bahrain, 2014-1-17 — /travelprnews.com/ — In keeping with its’ mission to enhance the airport’s infrastructure and services, Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) announced today signing an agreement with Shenzhen CIMC TIANDA Airport Support LTD to replace the existing passenger bridges at Bahrain International Airport with new state-of-the-art Passenger Boarding Bridges.

The signing ceremony, held during the Bahrain International Airshow 2014 was, attended by Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Airport Company Mr. Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah, and Senior Area Manager for MENA and Turkey at Shenzhen CIMC TIANDA Airport Support LTD Mr. Wei Long.

As per the BD1.2 million (USD3.2 million) agreement, 7 CIMC TIANDA Passenger Boarding Bridges will be installed to replace the existing bridges at Bahrain International Airport to further enhance the airport’s operations and travel experience. The new bridges will not only provide weather protection, comfort, and safe walkway between terminal and aircrafts; but they will also be designed to create a welcoming ambience for passengers.

Chief Executive Officer of BAC Mr. Mohamed Yousif AlBinfalah confirmed in his remark that this agreement is part of BAC’s immediate enhancement work at the airport, aiming to elevate the airport’s capabilities in keeping pace with the aviation growth.

Shenzhen CIMC-TianDa Airport Support is a Chinese based company specialized in designing and manufacturing airport equipment as Passenger Boarding Bridge and Cargo Handling System etc. “Having served over 184 airports, we have vast experience in providing world-class equipment which we will bring to Bahrain International Airport. BAC is the authority responsible for enhancing BIA and increasing the airport’s contribution to the local economy in line with Vision 2030. In its’ operational role, BAC is responsible for elevating the airport’s operations, infrastructure and services. This is set to improve BIA capabilities; and to cater for the growing number of passengers as well as the changing demands of stakeholders.
