Austrian Airlines to recruit 19 candidates for this year’s apprenticeship training

  • Sixteen technical apprentices and three office clerk trainees are needed
  • Training commences on September 2, 2019
  • 54 apprentices are currently undergoing training at Austrian Airlines

VIENNA, Austria, 2019-Feb-01 — /Travel PR News/ — Each year Austrian Airlines trains a large number of apprentices in different areas of the company. The field of aircraft engineering is particularly exciting. Austrian Airlines is once again recruiting sixteen candidates this year for apprenticeship training in its own training workshop. In addition, three trainees will be accepted for training as office clerks. The training program is carried out in cooperation with the Vocational Training Institute (BFI) for Lower Austria and can be concluded in combination with a higher education entrance qualification (“Matura”). Currently, 54 apprentices are being trained at Austrian Airlines.

“We are pleased to once again be in a position this year to train the aircraft technicians and office clerks of tomorrow. In our training program the apprentices learn what matters in the maintenance of state-of-the-art aircraft and doing business for an international airline”, explains Nathalie Rau, Head of Human Resources at Austrian Airlines. “In fact, Austrian Airlines is one of the few companies in Austria in which the training to be an aircraft technician can be completed at the company’s own training workshop. This strengthens the Vienna Airport flight hub.”

The training program for aircraft technicians takes 3.5 years, whereas the comparable training as office clerks takes three years. The program includes practical on-the-job training, a theoretical education in the vocational school as well as internal and external training seminars on specialized topics, for example technical English. Currently, the gross remuneration paid to trainees amounts to € 530.29 per month.
