2013-04-16 — /travelprnews.com/ — Effective immediately, passengers can purchase additional legroom in the Economy Class on medium-haul flights of Austrian Airlines. Starting 36 hours before departure, customers can secure the coveted seats in the emergency exit row for 40 euros apiece by booking them during Web Check-in. Passengers deciding at the last minute to take advantage of this service can make the necessary arrangements on board, depending on availability. Thus Austrian Airlines is now offering greater comfort on medium-haul flights in addition to the existing offering on long-haul flights.
The pre-requisite is the passengers fulfill the guidelines relating to the assignment of seats in the emergency exit row. For security reasons, Austrian Airlines will only assign these seats to travelers who are at least 15 years of age, are fully physically mobile, are not on board together with babies under the age of two, and who are travelling in the cabin without animals.
