VIENNA, Austria, 2016-Feb-04 — /Travel PR News/ — Jens Ritter has been appointed to strengthen the management team of Austrian Airlines effective today, February 1, 2016. He was appointed by the Management Board to the position of “Accountable Manager Austrian Airlines”. In this role he will be responsible for the entire operations of Austrian Airlines to the legislator and regulatory authorities. Accordingly, he is in charge of Cabin, Cockpit, Safety, Training, Technical Operations and for the Ground Operations Standards, that are relevant for authorities. He will report directly to CEO Kay Kratky.

Jens Reiter (42) began his career in the field of aviation in the year 2000 following completion of his aerospace studies in Munich and his training to become a pilot for Airbus A320 aircraft at the Flight Training Pilot School Bremen. In 2008, he became a long haul pilot on Airbus A330/340 aircraft, and was trained as an Airbus A320 captain for Germanwings in 2014. Jens Ritter assumed his first management position in 2005 as the team manager for the “A380 Onboard IT” project. He later held various management positions, and was co-responsible for launching the paperless cockpit at Lufthansa. Ritter has been working in the field of flight operations and fuel efficiency at Lufthansa since 2011. In 2014 he was appointed to be Head of Operations Efficiency and Strategy at Lufthansa Passage. At the same time, he was in charge of the project to standardize Group-wide flight operations processes within the Lufthansa Group. Jens Ritter is married and has three children.
