Anantara launches targeted wellness programmes for guests undergoing quarantine

The new programmes are designed to refresh and balance their mind, body and soul with the assistance of a personal wellness expert and lifestyle coach via a live video call.  The luxury hotel group’s Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel and Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort properties are the only certified Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) hotels in Bangkok that offer virtual in-room wellness programmes.

The new Enhance. Detox. Restore. in-room wellness offerings were custom designed to accommodate in-person interaction in a series of curated programmes that each feature personal lifestyle wellness consultations and supervised health classes with an Ayurvedic doctor via a live video call, whether they want to detox or enhance or restore their wellness during their stay.

Each programme starts with an Anantara Spa signature bath experience in the comfort and luxury of the participant’s room or suite and is followed by a virtual live personal lifestyle wellness consultation with an Ayurvedic specialist, Dr Sooraj Shankar.  The Enhance. programme then offers daily yoga and Smrithi meditation classes with the doctor in virtual attendance in the guest’s room; the Detox. programme offers a daily yoga class, a Pilates class, body stretching class, and a meditation class with the doctor; and the Restore. programme offers an additional Smrithi class.

Guests can also opt for a two-day express juice detox programme or add daily tailormade wellness meals for the duration of their in-room wellness programme.

Dr Sooraj Shankar studied Ayurveda in Kerala, India, the epicentre of India’s rich Ayurvedic tradition.  Having eminent knowledge of science and being well versed in pulse diagnosis and treatments, he trained under world renowned pulse readers and toxicologists in India and now provides personal recommendations in improving and balancing the three pillars of life: food, sleep, and exercise.  As well as providing advice in balancing these areas, Dr Shankar also offers detoxification procedures and designs treatments according to health and constitutional needs.
