Anantara Chiang Mai Resort announces new international award wins

Doha, Qatar, 2021-Jan-08 — /Travel PR News/ — Amid a year of shutdowns and strictly guided re-openings Anantara Chiang Mai Resort has emerged as Thailand’s top resort with a number of prestigious international award wins to add to its collection.

The resort which blends contemporary design with traditional Thai hospitality and old-world charm, was named the winner in the Top 10 Southeast Asia Resort Hotels category in the annual Travel + Leisure 2020 World’s Best Awards. Anantara Chiang Mai Resort also cracked the 22nd spot on the Top 100 Hotels in the World list. The resort also claimed Thailand’s #1 resort in the 2020 Condé Nast Traveler US and UK Readers’ Choice Awards. Condé Nast readers also recognized Anantara Chiang Mai as the fourth best resort in the world placing it the highest resort to be voted in throughout all of Asia.

In food and beverage, the resort’s centerpiece, The Service 1921 Restaurant and Bar, a stunning one-hundred-year-old colonial house, won two prestigious awards including the internationally renowned Wine Spectator’s 2020 Restaurant Award which recognises thoughtfully chosen wine lists that offer quality and diversity, as well as compatibility with the restaurant’s style and menu. The restaurant was also awarded a Plate in Thailand’s 2021 Michelin Guide which symbolises “Fresh ingredients, carefully prepared; a good meal”.

Anantara Chiang Mai’s spa also claimed the top spot for Thailand in the prestigious World Spa Awards.  Nominated and voted for by professionals working within the spa industry the award serves to celebrate and reward excellence in spa tourism.

“In such a challenging year these awards are a clear testament to the dedication, passion and commitment of the whole team here at Anantara Chiang Mai,” said General Manager, Syahreza Ishwara. “It not only is an honour to be recognised by such prestigious international awards but to also showcase the genuine hospitality of Northern Thailand to the whole world.”
