Schiphol, The Netherlands, 2019-Mar-11 — /Travel PR News/ — The official opening of the renovated Aspire Lounge (26) and all-new Star Alliance Lounge (27) in Lounge 1 at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol took place today (07 March 2019). The remodelling of the two business class lounges for Schengen passengers was carried out as part of the overall redevelopment of Departure Hall & Lounge 1.
‘We are proud of the opening of these two wonderful lounges. Schiphol is continuously investing and developing in facilitating passenger growth by creating space and increasing passenger comfort. These new lounges are a good example of this
André van den Berg, Chief Commercial Officer at Royal Schiphol Group
In the context of the redevelopment, among other things a new mezzanine floor is being built in Departure Hall 1. The Aspire Lounge has been moved as a result of this renovation and has been given the space to innovate and expand by 300 m2 in its new location. An all-new Star Alliance lounge has been developed right next to the Aspire Lounge. Schiphol is the eighth location where the company has opened a lounge. As a result, Star Alliance will be welcoming passengers at the airport in their own lounge for the first time. The lounges have a shared new entrance.
The completion of the lounges is one of many milestones as the airport moves towards the completion of the new departure hall (2020) and the new lounge (2022). Would you like to read more about this project? If so, click here.
