American Introduces U.S. Nonstop Flights to Budapest and Prague While Expanding European and South American Service

The airline will deploy Boeing 787-8s and 777-200s across these services, with fares and schedules available August 11. Additionally, American boosts premium capacity on its Tokyo Haneda routes from DFW and LAX by more than 45%, introducing enhanced Business Class amenities on all widebody flights to East Asia. (NEWS) FORT WORTH, TX, 2025-Aug-7 — /Travel PR News/ — American Airlines has unveiled six new summer 2026 routes to Europe and South America, further strengthening its global network. From May 21 through early August, Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) will inaugurate daily seasonal service to Athens (ATH) and Zurich (ZRH), while extending its existing DFW–Buenos Aires (EZE) link. Miami (MIA) gains year-round daily service to Milan (MXP) beginning March 29, and Philadelphia (PHL) debuts summer-seasonal flights to Budapest (BUD) and Prague (PRG). All transatlantic flights will utilize Boeing 787-8 or 777-200 aircraft, with one-stop connections via American’s major U.S. hubs.
In addition to these European expansions, American is boosting premium seat capacity by over 45% on routes to Tokyo Haneda (HND) from DFW and Los Angeles (LAX) starting March 29, operating daily Boeing 777-300 and twice-daily 777-200 services respectively. Enhanced Business Class offerings include pajamas, mattress pads and multicourse chef-inspired meals.
Brian Znotins, SVP of Network and Schedule Planning, noted that customer demand for European travel remains strong and highlighted American’s unique position as the only U.S. carrier offering non-stop service to Budapest.
