Pilot Recognized for Contributions to Enhance Aviation Security
WASHINGTON, D.C., 2019-Jul-19 — /Travel PR News/ — The Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) today (July 18, 2019) recognized Delta Air Lines First Officer Matt Clark with its Aviation Security Award for his innumerable accomplishments in enhancing aviation safety and security. First Officer Clark was presented with the award today at ALPA’s 65th Air Safety Forum in Washington, D.C.
“First Officer Clark’s leadership in aviation security is felt throughout the industry today,” said Capt. Joe DePete, ALPA president. “As a powerful advocate for effective and efficient security initiatives, Matt has played a key role in safeguarding the entire airline industry.”
Serving on ALPA’s Aviation Security Council, First Officer Clark has been involved in raising awareness of the concerns created by disruptive passengers and current efforts to help mitigate the risks. As a result of his extensive experience and efforts, he is a trusted subject-matter expert in aviation security, including the Federal Flight Deck Officer program.
“As Delta’s Security Committee chairman, Matt brings a level of diligence and hard-working attitude that is unmatched. His endless dedication to fellow pilots has helped to identify and resolve security issues and has led to raising the standards across the board,” said Capt. Ryan Schnitzler, chairman of ALPA’s Delta Air Lines Master Executive Council.
