Anchoring the four-day celebration is acclaimed pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii, who reunites with longtime musical collaborators and debuts alongside Hawaiian star Raiatea Helm. Together they’ll weave Japanese and Hawaiian traditions through performances that honor community, culture, and environmental stewardship.

The festival kicks off on November 19 with an intimate evening at Blue Note Hawaii, featuring Tsujii’s solo set alongside jazz virtuosi Shutaro Matsui (trumpet) and Kento Tsubosaka (piano). It culminates on November 22 under the stars at the Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell, where Tsujii, violinist Fumiaki Miura, Matsui and Tsubosaka join Helm for a gala concert blending classical and Hawaiian melodies.

Beyond concerts, ANA ʻAha Mele continues its community outreach: Tsujii will lead a hands-on music workshop at a local school, inspiring young Hawai‘i musicians, while ANA employees plant native Milo trees in the “ANA Legacy Forest,” supporting reforestation and preserving the cultural heritage embodied by the tree’s use in crafting ukuleles.
