ANCHORAGE, 2013-09-26 — /travelprnews.com/ — Alaska Airlines launched its Permanent Fund Dividend sale today, featuring savings on air fares for residents of the 49th state. The special PFD rates are on routes within Alaska and between Alaska and the Lower 48 states, Hawaii, Canada and Mexico for travel purchased by Oct. 29, 2013.
“Alaska Airlines’ PFD sale features some of the best fares of the year. Residents receiving their checks next month can plan ahead to purchase discounted travel to many destinations where we fly, including Hawaii and Mexico,” said Marilyn Romano, the airline’s regional vice president for the state of Alaska.

All fares are one way and valid for travel beginning Oct. 8, 2013, through Aug. 18, 2014, except for some markets as listed below, which have different start and completion dates. Travel requires a 14-day advance purchase.

* General terms and conditions for the PFD sale: Fares are based on one-way travel and include all taxes and fees, including the September 11 Security Fee. All fares shown may be more than doubled if traveling round trip. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights or all days. Some markets may not operate daily service. A ticket purchased at an Alaska Airlines airport location or through a reservation call center will cost $15 more per person than the advertised fare.
Tickets must be purchased by Oct. 29, 2013, for travel through Aug. 18, 2014, except for: travel to/from Honolulu, which must be completed by May 22, 2014. Travel to/from the following markets must be complete by May 14, 2014: Austin, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Dallas/Fort Worth, Newark, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Ontario, Philadelphia, Palm Springs, San Antonio, Salt Lake City, St. Louis and Washington, D.C. Travel to/from the following markets must be completed by June 15, 2014: Boise, Burbank, Spokane, Oakland, San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento and Orange County. Tickets are nonrefundable, but can be changed at any time for a $75 change fee.
A $20 bag fee applies to first and second checked bags. Elite Level Mileage Plan members and members of Alaska Airlines Club 49 receive two free checked bags. Travelers flying exclusively within the state of Alaska are allowed three free checked bags. Additional fees apply to check more than two bags and for overweight or oversized items.
