Alaska Airlines announces the appointment of David Kuhl as new VP of IT services

SEATTLE, 2015-6-10 — /Travel PR News/ — Alaska Airlines today named experienced Information Technology executive David Kuhl its new vice president of IT services.

Kuhl has more than 30 years of experience in the field of IT, most recently as vice president of Corporate IT at Expedia where he led technology for contact centers, financial systems, HR and collaboration, as well as end-user services. Prior to his six years at Expedia, Kuhl led IT teams at Microsoft and AT&T Wireless/Cingular Wireless, and has worked at Boeing, General Dynamics and Arizona State University.

At Alaska, Kuhl will be responsible for all IT services and more than 80 employees, helping to drive a culture of continual learning and superior customer service. He will oversee the departments of field services, service desk and production operations, infrastructure engineering, IT services performance management and network connectivity.

“Dave brings to the table a wealth of IT experience from highly respected companies,” said Alaska Airlines Chief Information Officer Veresh Sita. “As a company that prides itself on a culture of innovation, we are thrilled to welcome Dave to the team.”

Kuhl holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Frostburg State University and a master’s degree in engineering management from National Technological University. He replaces Kris Kutchera, who is retiring this summer after 10 years with Alaska.

“I am excited to be part of the Alaska Airlines family, and look forward to joining a team that is focused on leveraging technology to create industry leading customer experiences,” said Kuhl.
