This decision was upheld by the Lazio Regional Administrative Court, which dismissed an appeal from the incumbent service provider, clearing the path for Airport Handling to commence operations in February 2025.
A Major Investment in Expansion
To support its entry into FCO, Airport Handling is investing over €20 million in state-of-the-art ground support equipment (GSE). Some vehicles have already been delivered, ensuring a seamless start to its operations. The company plans to employ more than 1,800 aviation professionals, prioritizing a smooth transition for staff from the incumbent service provider.
A local management team with deep expertise in the Rome aviation market has already been appointed, underscoring Airport Handling’s commitment to delivering high-quality and safe ramp and passenger services.
