airberlin welcomes its three millionth topbonus member

Competitions for all frequent flyers

2012-08-20 — /travelprnews.com/ — It was a great surprise for Dr. Albina Boyarkina from Sankt Petersburg: She is the three millionth member to join airberlin’s topbonus frequent flyer programme. Marcus Puffer, Vice President Loyalty & Partnerships, presented her with the gift of a long-haul flight voucher for two within airberlin’s route network. “I didn’t expect such a fantastic surprise when I registered with topbonus early this morning,” was Boyarkina’s delighted reaction. In future Boyarkina will be using her new topbonus card on all flights to earn miles towards award flights and status benefits. All other frequent flyers also have an opportunity to win great prizes, and there are now even two competitions available: on the airberlin.com/3millionen promotional page there will be a prize draw for a total of 3 million miles, with 1 million award miles allocated as first prize; at facebook.com/airberlin the topbonus partners Marriott, Starwood Hotels, Avis and Hertz are offering hotel accommodation and rental cars as exclusive prizes.

“We are proud of the fact that three million passengers have already opted for topbonus. Since its launch in 2004 the programme has undergone enormous developments. We now have cooperation agreements with the frequent flyer programmes of Etihad Airways and our oneworld® partner airlines. This makes it possible for our passengers to collect miles worldwide. And holders of our status cards have access to more than 550 airport lounges. It means they can pass the time up to the departure of their flight in very comfortable surroundings,” explained Puffer. At central German airports airberlin provides exclusive parking and waiting areas specifically for topbonus members. Furthermore, there is the priority check-in facility. “This is a time-saving benefit for business travellers,” continued Puffer. At the beginning of the year airberlin was the first airline to introduce a system for earning status and award miles on all purchases paid for with the airberlin Visa Card.

Members of the frequent flyer programme can also collect miles with more than 100 topbonus partners. These include hotels, rental car companies, insurance firms and magazine publishers as well as companies such as Heinemann Duty Free and HolidayCheck. Further information about airberlin’s frequent flyer programme is available online at airberlin.com/topbonus.
