2013-05-27 — /travelprnews.com/ — In January 2012, airberlin became the first airline to introduce the possibility of collecting status miles for every credit card payment with the airberlin Visa Card. This benefit, which up to now has been the only one of its kind in Europe, has now been extended until 2015. Germany’s second largest frequent flyer program is offering all travellers who do not yet have an airberlin Visa Card the opportunity to collect 10,000 award miles up until 30th June 2013 as a thank you for submitting their new registration at airberlin.com/sommermeilen.
The credit card includes the benefits associated with the topbonus status as well as the ability to collect miles, the services offered by travel insurance companies and other services. A unique feature of the airberlin Visa Card is the fact that status miles are also collected in addition to award miles for every payment made by cardholders as they go about their daily routines. “A large number of topbonus members have told us as part of their feedback that they like to make use of the opportunity to collect status miles with the credit card. After all, by using the airberlin Visa Card, members of Germany’s second largest frequent flyer program can achieve their frequent flyer status even more quickly or protect their existing status,” explained Marcus Puffer, General Manager topbonus Ltd. Flight guests who pay for their flights with the airberlin Visa Card even have the opportunity to obtain status and award miles twice by collecting them when they pay and when they fly.
Currently, over three million flight guests already participate in the topbonus Program and enjoy the exclusive benefits provided by the numerous topbonus partners, such as hotels, hire cars, insurance and magazines. Thanks to the oneworld® membership, topbonus has become even more attractive for frequent flyers: holders of a topbonus status card have worldwide access to the oneworld airport lounges. Further information about the airberlin frequent flyer program is available online at airberlin.com/topbonus.
topbonus is Germany’s second largest frequent flyer program and one of the leading customer loyalty programs with more than 3 million members. With over 120 renowned partner companies worldwide, members collect topbonus miles that can be redeemed for award flights and further exclusive benefits. The topbonus Program has received numerous awards including the Loyalty Award 2010. topbonus has been functioning as an independent company under the name topbonus Ltd. since 18th December 2012. As the operator of airberlin’s frequent flyer program, topbonus continues its close association with the airline.
