2012-11-06 — /travelprnews.com/ — In October 2012, airberlin increased its capacity utilization to 81.00 percent, i.e. an increase of 1.3 percentage points over the corresponding month of the previous year. Last month, airberlin welcomed 3,177,080 passengers on board. Since airberlin reduced its capacity by 6.6 percent in October 2012 within the framework of its “Shape and Size” efficiency-increasing programme, whereas the number of passengers decreased by 5.0 percent (October 2011: 3,345,832 passengers), capacity utilization in monthly comparison increased to 81.00 percent (October 2011: 79.71 percent).

Over the first ten months of 2012, airberlin increased its capacity utilization by 1.4 percentage points over the previous year. Germany’s second-largest airline company reduced its capacity in yearly comparison by a total of 6.8 percent to 36,722,643. Over the same period, airberlin transported 29,427,749 passengers, i.e. only 5.1 percent less than in the period from January to October 2011. airberlin thus increased flight capacity utilization to 80.14 percent.
