In June 2016, Air Tahiti Nui and Olivier ARCHAMBAUD, founder and President of the Human Underwater Society (HUS), signed a partnership in order to promote the underwater heritage of French Polynesia. After wondering about Man’s place on Earth, then, looking at the stars and wondering about his place in the Universe, the HUS now invites us to inquire about the limits of Man & Oceans, together in their common future.
Papeete, French Polynesia, 2016-Jul-06 — /Travel PR News/ — Olivier ARCHAMBAUD is a professional diver and chose to create the HUS in French Polynesia with one purpose: establish an underwater and land-based center in Tahiti, for scientific research, training, and awareness. This center will help gather in the same place isolated skills, initiatives, and projects for greater effectiveness and further development.
The Human Underwater Society approach is to promote the development of new technologies in order to improve the connection between Humans and the underwater environment. This will also enable the HUS to suggest new solutions of public interest like health, environment or industry.
Through this partnership, Air Tahiti Nui wants to highlight its commitment to the technological and economic development of French Polynesia. Indeed, the Islands of Tahiti are a perfect place for all researchers working on the underwater environment, while allowing the Polynesian people to benefit from the awareness generated by this unique training center.
The huge ocean surrounding French Polynesia is a fundamental asset of the future of these islands. Issues and fields such as ocean rising, shipping activities or water sports, directly affect Polynesians’ daily lives. Taking part in this project – looking for solutions for the future – is important for Air Tahiti Nui, in order to improve the daily life of locals while offering new tourism-related infrastructures.
The HUS is working in partnership with the French Polynesian Ministry of Research and is officially supported by several scientific institutes like DAN Research Europe Foundation, ESIEE micro-electronics school or the IESF, French Association of Engineers and Scientists. The HUS is creating the first international university network in those themes and looking forward donation to move on its development in universities, schools of engineering and research centers all over the world. To participate in the project and help create the HUS institute in Tahiti, please donate on the website: http://www.humanunderwatersociety.org/
Thanks to your donation and the support from companies like Air Tahiti Nui, the HUS can make this project a reality soon. Three important dates for the next steps in 2016/2017: a new office in Los Angeles, an international engineering design competition and a call for architectural concept contest.
