Air Partner utilizes its expertise to help clients evacuate personnel out of troubled Iraq

LONDON, 2014-8-15 — /Travel PR News/ — Air Partner, a leading provider of aviation charter services to industry, commerce and governments worldwide, has been using its expertise to help clients evacuate personnel out of troubled Iraq.

Air Partner has seen multiple requests for evacuations out of Erbil, the capital of Iraq’s Kurdistan region, where rebels are just 40km south of the city. On 9th August 2014, Air Partner chartered an Embraer Legacy 650 long-range jet, on behalf of a corporate client, to evacuate 13 passengers from Erbil to Amman in Jordan. Air Partner also organised a Boeing 737-300 to transport 39 further passengers from Erbil to Istanbul in Turkey.

Mark Briffa, Air Partner’s CEO, commented, “The team at Air Partner has used its expertise to provide aviation evacuation solutions for its clients, despite the extremely difficult conditions for aircraft, crews and operators. Those wishing to evacuate personnel face significant challenges finding aircraft currently capable of operating in the region.  I am proud of the team’s dedication and specialist knowledge, which has allowed us to react rapidly and move people to safety.”

Air Partner has significant aid and crisis experience – last year the Group transported 600 tonnes of humanitarian aid to the Philippines when Typhoon Haiyan devastated the region.  While during the so called Arab Spring of 2011, which coincided with several natural disasters, Air Partner worked around the clock to evacuate more than 12,000 people from across Libya, Egypt, Tunisia, Japan and New Zealand, in just six weeks.

Air Partner is a valued supplier to many national and international organisations and provides aviation solutions to corporates and governments worldwide, including six of the G8 group of governments, NGOs and aid agencies, as well as international and UK royalty.
