Aerolíneas Argentinas will be at the front in the care for the Environment.

Buenos Aires, 2012-10-25 — /travelprnews.com/ — Aerolíneas Argentinas reaffirms its commitment to the environment by establishing a framework agreement on Technical Cooperation with the Environment and Sustainable Development Department to control emissions of CO2 (carbon dioxide) generated by the companys aviation business.

The agreement was signed by the head Cabinet of Ministers, Juan Manuel Abal Medina, the Secretary of Environment and Sustainable Development, Dr. Juan José Mussi, and the President of Aerolineas Argentinas, Dr. Mariano Recalde.

On that opportunity Recalde highlighted the signing of the agreement and said the State of the airlines which, after its recovery and change, can now return to deal with environmental issues that had been put to one side and abandoned by the previous private administrators.”

Aerolíneas Argentinas, through its Biofuel Committee, CO2 Emissions and Carbon Markets, undertakes to monitoring and establishing a detailed mapping
of CO2 Emissions, to be to calculate the greenhouse effect of Gases (GEIs) produced in all its operations, both in areas of the company and at the airports, through the analysis of carbon footprint.

The information generated by these studies will allow to optimize all processes to reduce environmental pollution, reduce the consumption of energy, materials and supplies and raise awareness both internally and externally on the desirability of compliance with environmental standards.

For its part the Environment and Sustainable Development Department will participate in the programs and will contribute with human and technical resources for the development of actions and environmental projects.

The agreement will have a minimum duration of two years and is renewable by mutual agreement between the parties.
