(PRESS RELEASE) Dublin, Ireland, 2024-Nov-7 — /Travel PR News/ — Accor and the Arora Group have broken ground on the new Sofitel Dublin Airport, a luxury hotel designed to elevate the hospitality experience for travelers passing through Ireland’s primary international gateway. Expected to open in late 2026, the hotel will feature 412 elegantly appointed rooms and suites, along with upscale amenities, including an all-day dining restaurant, a tea salon, and a sky bar on the 11th floor with panoramic views of the airport.

Conveniently connected to Dublin Airport’s Terminal 2, Sofitel Dublin Airport will offer seamless access for passengers. The project, developed by the Arora Group in partnership with Accor, represents an investment of over €100 million, awarded by the daa (Dublin Airport Authority) following a competitive bidding process in 2018.

Sébastien Bazin, CEO & Chairman of Accor, noted the importance of Ireland as a growth market, saying, “With its welcoming culture and growing tourism sector, Ireland offers significant opportunities. This collaboration with the Arora Group allows us to support the Irish tourism industry by bringing world-class luxury accommodations to Dublin Airport.”

Maud Bailly, CEO of Sofitel, emphasized Sofitel’s signature French luxury experience, adding, “Sofitel Dublin Airport will celebrate the cultural connection between Ireland and France, offering travelers heartfelt service in a sustainable, luxurious environment.”

The Arora Group, already the owner of Sofitel properties at London’s Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, brings extensive expertise in airport hospitality to the project. Surinder Arora, Founder & Chairman of the Arora Group, expressed pride in the collaboration, calling it the group’s first project outside the UK and an exciting partnership with both the daa and Sofitel.

Kenny Jacobs, CEO of daa, highlighted the project’s economic impact, noting that the hotel will create hundreds of jobs during construction and upon opening. The hotel will also offer extensive meeting and event facilities, including a ballroom and eight meeting rooms, along with a fitness center and an executive lounge, catering to the needs of international travelers.
