Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 2013-06-21 — /travelprnews.com/ — Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) received last week the prestigious award of “Best Airport for the Middle East region” from the Airports Council International (ACI) in an award ceremony at Çiragan Palace in Istanbul Turkey during the council’s annual meeting. The award came as a result of the Capital’s airport score in the 2012 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Survey results – a key benchmark for customer service in the global airports’ industry.
Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) also attained the title of “Best Improved Airport in the Middle East” for Abu Dhabi International Airport, in recognition of the airport’s tangible improvements in ASQ overall satisfaction results in the region for 2012. AUH has excelled in categories that demonstrate the operational efficiency of the airport and the quality of services offered. The airport scored 4.40 in ASQ indicators for 2012, an increase from 4.31 in 2011 to place the airport as 1st in the Middle East after being ranked 2nd last year.
Collecting the award in Istanbul on behalf of ADAC, Engineer Ahmad Al Haddabi, Chief Operations Officer of ADAC, said: “As ADAC embarks on its journey to deliver an iconic gateway for Abu Dhabi and the region, the Capital’s Airport continues to withhold the quality of travel experience as its driving mission in all of its operations and developments. The airport team is constantly aiming at enhancing passengers’ services to ensure retaining the service excellence that the Abu Dhabi International Airport has become famous for throughout the current period of challenging developments and projects.”
“ADAC is proud of receiving the award for “Best Airport in the Middle East” as it is a testament from ACI acknowledging ADAC’s achievements in this field, an award the company cherishes and appreciates,” added Al Haddabi.
Since its creation in 2006, the ASQ Awards have become the world’s leading airport passenger satisfaction benchmark with over 275 airports participating. The ASQ Awards recognize and reward the best airports in the world based on ACI’s ASQ passenger satisfaction survey and represent an opportunity to celebrate the commitment of airports worldwide to continually improve the passenger experience.
