(NEWS) MILAN, 2025-Nov-18 — /Travel PR News/ — Rocco Forte Hotels has unveiled its latest luxury destination with the opening of The Carlton in Milan, marking the group’s tenth property in Italy and a striking new presence in the city’s prestigious Fashion District. The fully restored property, located between Via Senato and Via della Spiga, offers seventy-one rooms and suites alongside refined dining spaces, a sophisticated bar, and a serene wellness sanctuary. Led by renowned architects Philip Vergeylen and Paolo Moschino, the hotel’s €60-million renovation was creatively directed by Olga Polizzi, the company’s Deputy Chair and Director of Design, who ensured that tradition and modernity blend seamlessly through Art Deco styling and rich, contemporary palettes.
Guests at The Carlton can explore a culinary journey shaped by the vision of Chef Fulvio Pierangelini, whose restaurant Spiga features a seasonally shifting menu rooted in local ingredients and refined simplicity. Cafe Floretta, an all-day dining space bathed in natural light through its domed glass roof, provides a relaxed, botanical-inspired gathering place for informal meetings and events. The Carlton Bar is an indulgent homage to Italy’s aperitivo culture, offering signature cocktails crafted by master mixologist Salvatore Calabrese and inspired by the creative pulse of Milan from the 1960s to the 1980s. A lush private garden is set to debut in 2026, completing the hotel’s urban retreat experience.
At the heart of the property lies the Irene Forte Spa, a 280-square-metre wellness sanctuary where ancestral healing techniques align with cutting-edge bio-innovation. Facilities include treatment rooms, a thermal relaxation suite with sauna, steam room, sensory showers, and sound beds, a nail salon, a Forte Vita Bar for express treatments, and a full-day fitness center tailored to the needs of modern travelers.
Reflecting on the opening, Sir Rocco Forte, CEO and Chairman of the brand he co-founded with sister Olga Polizzi, noted Milan’s rise as one of Europe’s most vibrant and fast-growing cities, adding that The Carlton will become a stylish destination for discerning locals and global travelers alike. Managing Director Francesco Roccato highlighted the hotel’s ambition to serve as a landmark within the city’s rapidly evolving hospitality scene, while Luca Petrichella of Reale Immobili emphasized the strategic importance of this investment ahead of the Winter Olympics. The Carlton joins a prestigious portfolio of globally renowned properties under the Rocco Forte brand, with new openings scheduled in Sardinia, Noto, and Naples in the coming years.
