Winnipeg Airports Authority Inc. 2012 Fourth Quarter Results (Unaudited)

2013-01-30 — /travelprnews.com/ — Fourth quarter passenger traffic at Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport increased by 1.64% over the same period last year.

“Our community’s new airport received a great deal of international attention this past quarter as a result of being named one of the World’s Most Stylish Airports,” said Barry Rempel, President and CEO of Winnipeg Airports Authority. “While being stylish and modern is important and we’re very honoured, our main focus is ensuring we meet the needs of our community by providing both the air services required and to provide economic growth opportunities for our region. We will continue to invest in the infrastructure required to meet the service needs of our community.”

Revenue was $21.2 million for the fourth quarter, compared to $19.9 million for the same period in 2011. Earnings before interest, depreciation and taxes were $9.2 million, compared to $8.0 million for the same period in 2011.

During the fourth quarter, WAA welcomed 7-Eleven to the airport campus and Harvey’s opened on the main level of the terminal. The airport also had the fortune of being named one of the “World’s Most Stylish Airports” by The Telegraph in the UK.
