WEF Guests Arrive in Style: Additional Business and Government Flights Expected at Zurich Airport

Opfikon, Switzerland, 2023-Jan-12 — /Travel PR News/ — Additional flight movements at Zurich Airport are expected to be about on par with previous years during the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. For spotter fans, there will be special tours and longer opening hours on the observation deck B.

This year’s World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos starts on Monday, January 16, and lasts until Friday, January. In the days before, during and after the WEF, additional aircraft movements of business jets and government aircrafts as well as increased political and security-related helicopter transports and thus increased noise emissions will take place. A total of around 1000 additional flight movements are to be expected.

Limited number of stands

For delegations already registered, reserved stands are available, which are allocated according to the size of the aircraft. The aircrafts of the other WEF guests will have time slots of a maximum of two hours for loading and unloading. They must then leave Zurich Airport and switch to an airport of their choice.

Observation deck B with extended opening hours

Aviation fans and interested parties can watch the action from various spotter sites, for example on the West side of the airport from the spotter hill at the heligrill, in the North from the spotter sites in Oberglatt or from the observation deck B. The opening hours will be extended during the WEF days: From Saturday, January 14, to Friday, January 20, the observation deck B will be open daily from 08:00 to 20:00.

Guided WEF Tours

As in previous years, special tours will be offered as part of the WEF. The number of seats is limited and a reservation in advance is mandatory. Additional information:
