The ship will join Viking’s Nile River fleet and operate on the company’s 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary. The Viking Ptah accommodates 82 guests in 41 staterooms and features Viking’s Scandinavian design, a square bow and an indoor-outdoor Aquavit Terrace. The delivery supports Viking’s long-term fleet growth plans, which include 20 additional river ships by 2028, nine additional ocean ships by 2031 and two additional expedition ships by 2031.

The delivery ceremony for the new vessel was held at the Massara shipyard in Cairo, Egypt.
The Viking Ptah joins Viking’s award-winning sister ships operating on the Nile and has been purpose-built for the company’s popular 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary.

The Viking Ptah accommodates 82 guests in 41 staterooms.
The ship has been designed specifically for navigation on the Nile River and follows the design approach used across Viking’s river and ocean fleets.
Its features include Viking’s Scandinavian design style, a distinctive square bow and an indoor-outdoor Aquavit Terrace.
Viking said the addition of Viking Ptah forms part of its wider long-term growth strategy in experiential travel.
Based on the company’s committed orderbook, Viking expects to take delivery of 20 additional river ships by 2028, nine additional ocean ships by 2031 and two additional expedition ships by 2031.
With these planned deliveries, Viking expects to operate 114 river ships in 2028 and 26 ocean and expedition ships in 2031.
