Spas to visit while in Bath…
Where could be better for a spa break than Bath, which has been a spa resort since the Romans first arrived and established their bathing complex in the heart of the city?  The Romans may have long left, but their legacy remains at the impressive Roman Baths.  Today, bathers head to the Thermae Bath Spa to take advantage of the city’s unique mineral-rich and warm waters.  The Thermae Bath Spa is accessible and affordable and features an open-air roof-top pool – open all year round – complete with incredible views of the surrounding cityscape.  Inside the Spa, visitors will discover the Minerva pool, a number of aromatic steam rooms and an indulgent choice of pre-bookable treatments – the perfect way to unwind.

While in Bath it’s also worth exploring the Roman Baths to learn the beginnings of Bath’s spa culture.  Discover the story of how the baths were developed, see the source of the thermal waters and explore the monumental remains of the great Roman temple and magnificent bath-house that still flow with natural hot water.

As you would expect from a spa city, Bath also has a good number of hotel and day spas including the luxurious surroundings of the Bath Priory Hotel and Spa, the Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel, the Royal Crescent Hotel Spa – set in the centre of the city’s most impressive architectural masterpiece – and Neal’s Yard Remedies and Champneys.

Organising a visit…
Bath is a destination that has welcomed visitors for over two thousand years – and it shows!  It is simple to organise a visit – www.visitbath.co.uk offers a free accommodation booking service, or for those who prefer to use more traditional methods, Bath Tourist Information Centre (0906 711 2000 50p/min) offers accommodation finding and booking, and can help to organise activities, tours and tickets to make your organisation completely stress free.  Even reaching the city is easy – with a centrally located train station on the mainline between Bristol and London, easy access to the M4 motorway and direct connections from Bristol International Airport.  Visitors can leave the stress behind and straight away see how visiting Bath can help them relax and unwind.
