Tirana Base Anniversary Highlights Wizz Air Growth to 61 Routes and 15 Based Aircraft

The airline held events at Tirana International Airport and onboard a Tirana–Barcelona flight, where selected passengers received Golden Ticket vouchers. Wizz Air now bases 15 aircraft in Tirana and operates more than 61 routes to 19 countries. To mark the milestone, the airline is offering a 15% discount on selected flights booked between 6 July and 14 December 2026, covering 400,000 seats. Recent additions to its network include direct routes from Tirana to Palma de Mallorca and Alghero.
(PRESS RELEASE) TIRANA, Albania, 2026-Jul-3 — /Travel PR News/ — Wizz Air has celebrated two milestones in Albania, welcoming its 25 millionth passenger in the country and marking six years since the airline opened its base at Tirana International Airport.
The airline hosted an event at Tirana International Airport with representatives from Wizz Air, airport officials, media and local influencers. The celebrations then continued on a Tirana–Barcelona service, where passengers took part in an onboard anniversary event.
Selected travellers found Golden Tickets in seat pockets and received vouchers, while Wizz Air’s symbolic 25 millionth passenger was also travelling on the flight.
To mark the occasion, Wizz Air is offering a 15% discount on selected flights booked between 6 July and 14 December 2026. The promotion applies to 400,000 seats.
The anniversary also recognises six years since Wizz Air established its Tirana base in July 2020. Since then, the airline has expanded its operations in Albania and now operates 15 aircraft based in Tirana.
Wizz Air currently serves more than 61 routes from the Albanian capital, connecting travellers with 19 countries across Europe and beyond. The airline says it holds the largest market share in Albania.
The carrier has recently added direct services from Tirana to Palma de Mallorca and Alghero, further expanding travel options for passengers seeking Mediterranean destinations.
