The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong Announces Third New Product Line to Complete an Entirely New Spa Menu for 2012

Hong Kong-born New Yorker Ling Chan proudly brings her skincare line Ling New York to her homeland for the first time

Hong Kong, China – 2012-10-4 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong announces the third and final product line to launch in its three-phase menu update at the award-winning Forbes Five-Star Spa. Complementing the two result-oriented brands launched earlier this year, Spa Director Shoshana Weinberg now introduces Ling, a skincare line by Hong Kong-born New Yorker Ling Chan.

Available from November 9, 2012, Ling will be launched alongside a new brochure design, to complete the third and final stage of the Spa’s menu overhaul, which began in January of this year. Ling was chosen as the ultimate brand to complement the Spa’s two existing lines: Biologique Recherche and The Organic Pharmacy, French and English brands respectively. Making its debut in Hong Kong, Lingenters the Spa at Four Seasons with two facials and a luxury body treatment, as well as a full range of retail homecare products. A celebrity favourite in New York City, where Ling herself was based when she established the company, the brand is a blend of both the eastern world where she was born and the western hemisphere where she has traded and practiced most of her life.

The three lines now combine to provide the discerning spa client with a complete variety of treatments and therapies under the roof of one of Asia’s finest spas. From an array of specialized massage treatments to result-oriented customized facials, to an east-meets-west inspired wellness body treatment, the Spa at Four Seasonsmeets every mood and every need.

About Ling

Ling grew up in Hong Kong and moved to New York at the age of 21, where she has managed to continually embrace her Chinese culture. Ling trained as an esthetician and has been practicing in New York since 1976. Within a few years, she found there were no products on the market that delivered what they promised, and so she developed her own range in 1983 and became a pioneer in formulating products without known irritants such as oils, lanolin and artificial fragrances. In conjunction with her new product line, Ling opened her own spa on 57th and 5th Avenue, New York in 1984. She developed her signature treatments based on Asian beauty principles of proper exfoliation and hydration to balance the skin in order to prevent and treat skin ailments before they arise. Her success was eminent by a loyal celebrity following of models and film stars whose skin is a fundamental tool for their careers. She is renowned in New York for her superlative results-oriented skincare as well as becoming a facialist to the stars, servicing the likes of Naomi Campbell, Meg Ryan, Alexander Wang, Renee Zellweger and Marisa Tomei with regular facials since making her fame with Madonna in the 1980s.

Ling Today

Debuting her line in Hong Kong and training therapists in her art, Ling says: “I couldn’t be happier to have an opportunity to launch my New York-founded brand back in my hometown, and I am honoured to debut at the exclusive Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong. Hong Kongers are savvy and demanding customers and we have spent years perfecting the art of results-oriented esthetics and skin care formulas that merge state-of-the-art ingredients with Asian beauty secrets, blending the best of both worlds. With expert therapists at the Spa at Four Seasons, I am confident we will find a whole new following of fans.”

Spa Director Weinberg says she was inspired to work with Ling from the instant they met, and that it provides the perfect final touch to her new menu. “After introducing Biologique Recherche and The Organic Pharmacy, I wanted one final treatment and product line that exemplified Hong Kong, and with Ling we have definitely found it. With her inherent understanding of the city, its people and its culture, and her exposure and tenure in New York, it was the absolute solution. We want to offer something that hasn’t been offered to Hong Kong before and this line melds the eastern and western worlds so beautifully, which in itself typifies our city.”

Treatments

Forbidden Rice Treatment – 90 minutes

Designed uniquely for the Spa at Four Seasons, this full-body treatment is the essence of east meets west. A rice and ginger body scrub exfoliates the entire body and is removed without leaving the treatment bed. This indulgent treatment follows with a two-phase massage: first using a rich butter of organic ginger, lotus and fennel that stimulates blood circulation, and the second and final phase of the treatment is a lymphatic drainage massage using a warming oil blend of cinnamon, ylang-ylang and black pepper.

The City Peel – 90 minutes

The City Peel is set to be Hong Kong’s most popular facial peel and begins with a glycolic, multi-acid fruit peel. A papaya enzyme peel follows under steam, to extract impurities and then uses the CACI’s non-invasive ultrasonic waves to exfoliate and remove unhealthy skin cells. This intense facial finishes with an acid-free rescue peel and is excellent for preventing and detoxifying the skin of clogged pores, resulting in a clearer and smoother complexion. The City Peel provides excellent results for people suffering with acne, uneven skin tone, oily and environmentally damaged skin, and is particularly good to treat men’s tough skin. The treatment is not recommended for sensitive skin and should only be taken once a week at the maximum in the first phase of introduction.

DNA Facial – 90 minutes

An advanced facial designed to defend skin against the signs of aging, Ling’s popular DNA facial means just that: Do Not Age! It aims to reduce premature fine lines, wrinkles and loose facial contours. CACI ultrasonic infusion utilizes the high performance vibrations to permeate vital nutrients such as apple stem cell into the skin cell membrane to prevent degeneration, promote rapid rejuvenation and heal.
