The Penthouse at Eichardt’s Private Hotel in Queenstown: New Zealand’s newest exclusive ultra-luxury waterfront development

Auckland, New Zealand, 2016-Nov-10 — /Travel PR News/ — New Zealand’s newest ultra-luxury holiday penthouse is open for business and bookings are already coming in.

The Penthouse is the NZ$10,000 per night prize jewel in an exclusive new waterfront development at Eichardt’s Private Hotel in Queenstown.

An extensive terrace with a spa and sweeping front row views of Lake Wakatipu, exquisite design, sumptuous furnishings and full VIP service are just the beginning of the offering at The Penthouse.

Occupying the top level of a major new development adjacent to the existing Eichardt’s Private Hotel, The Penthouse comes with private elevator access, in-suite sauna, 24/7 butler service, a cocktail and whisky bar, and after-hours private shopping opportunities. Guests will enjoy Krug Champagne, a private chef and chauffeur vehicle on call.

The NZ$6 million three-level building, which has doubled the original footprint of the heritage hotel dating back to 1867, also includes a new 150-seat restaurant, The Grille by Eichardt’s, and two lavish Hotel Lake View Suites.

With a number of pre-bookings from international guests ahead of its christening, Imperium Collection owner Andrew Cox says The Penthouse offers a new accommodation experience for Queenstown.

“We’re preparing for a new class of ultra-high net worth guests,” Cox says. “With a small yet powerful group of discerning guests heading to Queenstown on a regular basis, often by private plane, The Penthouse is a natural extension of Eichardt’s luxury offering and is sure to make an entrance to the market like no other.”

Before construction, the land was subject to archaeological excavation to discover and preserve the unique heritage of the area and of the Wakatipu Basin.

“The Penthouse is a calculated reflection of Eichardt’s history as well as the natural beauty and distinctive energy of the region,” says Cox.

“It is testament to Queenstown’s reputation as one of the world’s finest destinations. Our first-class events, warm culture and unparalleled natural surroundings have helped to put New Zealand on the global map, and with Eichardt’s ever-expanding luxury hospitality offering, we’re certainly keeping pace with the likes of London, New York and Paris.”

The hotel’s General Manager James Cavanagh is excited to add the ultra-luxury offer to the alpine town.

“Queenstown is an obvious choice for a growing number of influential guests from Australia, the Americas and Europe looking to enjoy stunning scenery, authentic cuisine, fine wine, unique activities and experiences from this corner.

“We offer a sense of privacy that no other destination in the world can compete with,” says James.

Rates for the 240sqm (plus 100sqm balcony) Penthouse suite are from NZD$10,000 per night including taxes, with the two additional Lakefront Suites available for NZD$1950 per night. Reservations are officially open from 20 December 2016.
