The nation’s first All-You-Can-Fly private membership airline Surf Air expands its service to Carlsbad and Oakland, California

All-You-Can-Fly Membership Airline Increases Value of Membership with Expanded Offering

Santa Monica, Calif., 2014-10-8 — /Travel PR News/ — Surf Air, the nation’s first All-You-Can-Fly private membership airline, announced today that it will expand its service to Carlsbad, California, beginning November 18 and Oakland, California, beginning December 15. This expansion occurs in conjunction with the delivery of the first three new Pilatus PC-12NG of Surf Air’s recent order of 65 aircraft to be delivered over the next five years. As part of that order, Surf Air will take delivery of an additional nine aircraft during 2015. With the additional service to Carlsbad and Oakland, Surf Air’s capacity will now provide new service for two of the most requested markets from prospective and existing members.

“The addition of both Oakland and Carlsbad is just the beginning of the exciting growth opportunity and expansion plan for Surf Air” said Jeff Potter, CEO of Surf Air. “Both markets are largely underserved by commercial carriers and hot spots for California-based business and leisure travelers. We intend to continue to expand to new markets with similar characteristics that benefit our existing membership base and introduce our innovative travel experience to new members.”

Surf Air will begin providing daily service from McClellan-Palomar Airport (CRQ) in Carlsbad starting on Nov. 18 with non-stop access to San Carlos (SQL) and Santa Barbara (SBA) and connecting service to Truckee Tahoe (TRK). Non-stop service to Hawthorne (HHR) begins Jan. 12 with connecting flights to Oakland (OAK) and Las Vegas (LAS). The inaugural flight will take-off at 6:00am on Nov. 18 from Carlsbad with arrival in San Carlos at 8:00am.

Daily non-stop service will begin from Oakland (OAK) on Dec. 15 to Hawthorne (HHR), Santa Barbara (SBA) and Truckee Tahoe (TRK) and connecting service to Carlsbad (CRQ) and Las Vegas (LAS). The inaugural flight from Oakland is scheduled to depart on Dec. 15 at 6:00am with arrival in Hawthorne at 7:35am.

Both markets were added based on the high current and potential member demand–with more than 100 deposits already placed for membership in these regions and relatively limited service by other carriers to either market. The San Diego-Carlsbad Metro region is the largest population center in California that Surf Air currently does not serve and there is currently no commercial air service between to Santa Barbara from either location. Members will enjoy the same Surf Air benefits in these new locations, including luxury fixed-base operators, concierge service and complimentary parking.

“We are creating a growth model that is dictated by demand from savvy consumers and making private air travel affordable to a greater number of travelers,” said Sudhin Shahani, Executive Chairman of Surf Air.

Launched in 2013, Surf Air provides a simple and convenient way to fly throughout the West Coast. For a nominal monthly fee, members have unlimited access to private flights on executive aircraft departing from private air terminals with free parking and no lines or additional fees. Prospective members can take advantage of pricing as low as $1,750 per month. Membership options include Tiered, Friends & Family and Business Memberships.
