SWISS serves Solothurn specialities aloft

2012-09-05 — /travelprnews.com/ — SWISS is offering its long-haul First and Business Class guests culinary creations by top Swiss chef Reto Lampart this autumn. Lampart is chef de cuisine at his own Lampart’s restaurant in Hägendorf, Canton Solothurn. The meals are accompanied by local cheeses and wines from the same region in Northwest Switzerland.

Canton Solothurn in the northwest of the country is the latest region to feature in SWISS’s award-winning “SWISS Taste of Switzerland” inflight foodservice programme. From 5 September until the beginning of December, SWISS First and SWISS Business travellers on long-haul services from Switzerland will be offered culinary creations from Lampart’s restaurant in Hägendorf, near Olten. The kitchen of executive chef Reto Lampart serves up classic French cuisine with strong Mediterranean accents, and has been awarded two Michelin stars and 17 GaultMillau points. Reto Lampart is a “Grand Chef Relais & Chateaux”, too.

SWISS Business guests will enjoy delights such as smoked trout tartlet or fillet of sole with Swabian potato dumplings and saffron sauce, while SWISS First travellers can sample such treats as lobster with carrot mousse or chicken and quail roulade. The new meals are further complemented with typical cheeses from the Solothurn region such as Bier Mutschli and Dotziger Tomme, and with wines that include a local Cuvée Wengi Pinot Noir.
