Stress-Relieving Specials
With the spring months dedicated to health awareness — April is Stress Awareness Month and May is Arthritis Awareness — The Spa at Trump invites guests to take advantage of energizing classes that promote tension release. The spa’s stress-relieving offers include:
- Zumba – The best way to relieve stress? Dance! Fitness amateurs and trained athletes alike will have fun while working up a sweat and toning their bodies during this vibrant 45-minute class that fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow dance moves, complemented by resistance training segments. (Mondays at 7:30 a.m., Wednesdays at 5:45 p.m., and Saturdays at 10 a.m. during the month of April; $30 for non-members and hotel guests.)
- Box Fit – Relieve built up frustration and stress with an empowering boxing session. During this class, guests work on the fundamentals of boxing through mitt work and the use of punching bags. Guests of all skill levels are welcome. (Mondays at 6:45 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays at 6 p.m., and Sundays at 10:30 a.m.; $30 for non-members and hotel guests.)
Warm Weather Outdoor Workouts
Fitness enthusiasts and yogis alike who want to break free from their monotonous, indoor workout routines will revel in new summertime programming at The Spa at Trump, which includes:
- Awakening Yoga – Offering a stunning, sun-filled setting, along the Chicago River and a challenging, meditative workout led by instructor Kris Krupa, The Spa at Trump’s Awakening Yoga will begin in early June at 7am. ($30 for non-members)
- 5k and 8k Run Club – Guests with eyes set on the finish line can prepare for a 5k or 8k run with a 12-week program that includes a training plan, mini-clinics, and the added benefit of support and motivation from fellow runners. Whether guests are planning for a run/walk, 5k, or 8k, the program offers three training levels and 11 group training runs. The program will kick-off on April 24 at 5 p.m. and the training will culminate with participation in the Bastille Day 5k & 8k Run/Walk on July 11. ($300 for non-members, $250 for members)
Enhanced Fitness Equipment
To maximize guests’ workout and training regime, The Spa at Trump Health Club introduces new fitness equipment.
- Run Now 700 VisioWeb Treadmills: Guests’ cardio workouts and training are enhanced with nine new treadmills from Technogym. Featuring the most modern treadmill technology, design and entertainment features, Run Now treadmills allow guests to maintain correct posture, increase running speed, and reduce joint and muscle stress with a responsive and cushioned running surface. The treadmills feature a large LCD touchscreen display and a digital platform that connects guests to live TV, web surfing, online video, social media networks, games, video tutorials and more.
- Kaiser M3 Spin bikes: The introduction of 15 new spin bikes provide guests a quiet, comfortable and strengthening ride. The bikes feature handlebars equipped with M3 computer technology that relays immediate performance feedback by displaying speed, watts, calorie burn, and heart rate. The bikes employ magnets on the flywheel to monitor resistance and adjust contact, resulting in a smoother and more predictable ride. Sliding handlebar shafts and saddles allow for optimal posture, increasing comfort and pedal efficiency. Located in the Health Club’s Spin Studio, the bikes are an effective upgrade to the spin class offerings.
The Spa at Trump’s indoor cycling classes are designed for guests of all fitness and experience levels and provide an energetic, calorie-burning workout. Class instructors offer a variety of routines and music selection and mix in their own personality and style to keep participants engaged. Classes are offered Mondays at 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m., Thursdays at 12:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m., Fridays at 5 p.m., Saturdays at 10 a.m., and Sundays at 9:30 a.m. ($30 for non-members and hotel guests.)
