(NEWS) SHANNON, County Clare, Ireland, 2026-Sep-28 — /Travel PR News/ — A pair of feathered “frequent fliers” has helped put Shannon Airport in contention for a national marketing honour, with its “The Best Place to Fly From” campaign shortlisted at Ireland’s Digital Media Awards 2026.
The campaign has been nominated in the Best in Class – Brand category, which recognises brand marketing strategies executed across multiple channels and platforms. Winners are due to be announced at a gala ceremony at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dublin on 9 October.
Developed with Havas Media Ireland and creative agency Connelly Partners, the semi-animated campaign centres on two characters, Robin and Wren, who present Shannon’s passenger experience through the airport’s established friendly and hassle-free positioning. According to details released by The Shannon Airport Group, the campaign has appeared nationwide during 2026 across television, cinema, radio, digital and out-of-home media.
The creative approach builds on Shannon Airport’s recent brand and customer-experience recognition. The airport said it was ranked Ireland’s top airport brand for three consecutive years in RED C’s Brand Reaction Index Ireland between 2023 and 2025, a backdrop that shaped the positioning of the latest campaign.
Vanessa McTigue, Commercial Director of The Shannon Airport Group, said the nomination recognised the work of the airport’s marketing team and its agency partners. She said Robin and Wren were created to reflect Shannon Airport’s personality and that the campaign had generated strong engagement across different audiences and channels.
Hannah Kelleher, Senior Account Director with Havas Media, described the nomination as the result of collaboration with Shannon Airport’s marketing team and its efforts to strengthen the airport brand and connect with audiences around Ireland.
The Digital Media Awards recognise work across digital innovation, creativity and measurable marketing impact, attracting entries from agencies, brands and organisations across Ireland. Shannon Airport’s place on the 2026 shortlist gives its passenger-focused brand campaign national industry exposure as the airport continues to compete for travellers from across Ireland.
