Shannon Airport welcomes expansion of Norwegian Air’s service to New York for Winter 2018/19

Shannon, Ireland, 2018-Apr-05 — /Travel PR News/ — Norwegian Air International today confirmed that its successful Shannon to New York service will expand to 4 flights per week for Winter 2018/19.

This is an increase of 2 flights per week over the same season last year and an increase of 1 flight per week over the current Summer 2018 schedule.

The airlines service to Providence will be suspended for Winter 2018/19.  The service operated 2 flights per week in Winter 2017/18 and currently operates 4 flights per week for the current Summer 2018 season.

Managing Director, Andrew Murphy said, “We are very pleased that the popular New York service has been expanded for this Winter and shows the demand for the destination. The seasonal suspension of Providence is disappointing but is in line with other Irish and International airports which have seen similar reductions. Overall we have grown our annual transatlantic capacity with Norwegian substantially for Summer 2018. This announcement for Winter sees us maintaining similar capacity to last year, albeit with a change in the destination mix.”
