Shannon Airport again shortlisted for the World Routes Marketing Awards 2015

Shannon Airport has once again been shortlisted for the World Routes Marketing Awards 2015.

SHANNON, IRELAND, 2015-8-20 — /Travel PR News/ — The independent airport has been nominated in the category of Best Marketing of Airports in the world under 4 million passengers, an award that they won last year at a lavish ceremony in Chicago.

The World Routes Marketing Awards reward leading operations in the aviation industry for their hard work and innovation.

After hearing that Shannon had been shortlisted, Head of Aviation Development for Shannon Airport Declan Power said; “We are absolutely delighted to be nominated for this prestigious award for the third year in succession. In 2013, our first year as an independent airport, we received a commendation at the ceremony in Las Vegas. Last year we were delighted to come away with the top prize, and this year we’ll be hoping for more of the same!”

It’s such a prestigious award, and to even be nominated is testament to the hard work and creativity of the team here in Shannon. We’ve had a busy year at the airport, with lots of transatlantic routes resuming over the summer, as well as having our busiest August Bank Holiday weekend since 2010,” he concluded.

This year’s World Routes Marketing Awards ceremony will take place on September 21st in Durban, South Africa.

2015 has already seen praise heaped on Shannon, as the airport was presented with an award for Best International Access Initiative at the inaugural Irish Tourism Industry Awards in April.
